The thing that stood out to me today was this pair:
1a.2) 2 Cor 5:14-15, Christ died for all so that all all died, to live for Him who died for them;
2a.2) 2 Cor 5:18b-21, God in Christ reconciled the world to Himself, that we might be made righteous in Him.
Vs. 21 is the famous verse that teaches that our righteousness in Christ is imputed righteousness through Christ’s work and not our own. It is there that some people leave the matter, and say that since we are dead to the Law for righteousness, any assertion that we ought to obey God’s commandments is akin to heresy. But in the matching pair, we see that He died for all (resulting in our reconciliation) so that we should no longer live for ourselves, but for Him who died for us. This means, living to God, denying the flesh, which is what the Law defines for us. It is really that simple!
