The structure makes evident, that the way Jesus did not leave us orphans after He ascended to heaven, was through the Holy Spirit. Because the Holy Spirit dwells with us, Jesus has come to us and is in us. The structure also makes evident, that just as the Holy Spirit empowers us to know Jesus’ words that He spoke while with us, He empowers us to do Jesus’ works that He did while with us. The same works, Jesus said. Whoa, He raised the dead! He healed everyone of everything! He cast out demons! He took power over nature and calmed seas and winds! He walked on water! He multiplied food! Yes, those same works. But if the Holy Spirit is still in the earth today, dwelling with His people and bringing to their remembrance all that He has said, is He not still in the earth today, dwelling with His people and doing the same works that Jesus worked? If He is not, then Jesus lied to us – and He did not lie to us! Beloved, compare what you have been told by men, and what you have been told by your Lord, and decide whose word you will believe!
