20 oz 15 bean soup mix
6 beef bacon slices
1 onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 ribs celery, chopped
5 cloves garlic, pasted
2 c diced turkey ham
4 c chicken broth
2 14.5 oz cans stewed tomatoes
2 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp each salt and pepper
1 tsp each parsley and crushed rosemary or thyme
1 tsp liquid smoke
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Soak beens in water to cover by two inches overnight. Drain beans and rinse well. In dutch oven cook bacon, then onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Add remaining ingredients, with beans, and simmer until tender, or cook on low in crock pot for 10 hours.
15 bean mix
Combine 1 lb each dried beans:
black beans
red beans
kidney beans
navy beans
great northern beans
baby lima beans
pinto beans
cranberry beans
green split peas
yellow split peas
black eyed peas
red lentils
green lentils
brown lentils
pearl barley
Omit pearl barley to make the soup mix gluten- free.
