Hebrew root word parables:
From Gen 7 and 8:
The ark that Noah made is Strong’s H8392, tebah, a concrete noun meaning, “ark,” of unknown derivation. The 3-letter root of the noun is tav + bet + hey.
tav ת = crossed sticks, thus mark, sign, signal, monument
bet ב = the house, thus house, household, family, in, within
hey ה = man w/ raised arms, thus look, reveal, wonder, worship, breath
The story: The cross (tav) within (bet) the man who worships (hey). The ark was the means of salvation for Noah, and for Moses (the same word is used for the basket of reeds made by Moses’ mother). For us, the cross within, that is, Yeshua received in the heart, is our means of salvation. Thousands of years before the life of Yeshua on earth, in the world that perished, the Hebrew was preaching the Gospel of grace through faith!
Tebah is only used for Noah’s ark, and Moses’ basket of reeds. It occurs no where else in Hebrew Scripture, and is not the same word used for the ark of the covenant within the tabernacle.
From Psalm 4:1:
Anah, “to answer,” Strong’s H6030
Qara, “to call,” Strong’s H7121
Shama, “to hear,” Strong’s H8085
To be gracious. Strong’s H2603 חנן chanan, “to be favorably inclined.”
chet ח = the wall, thus outside, divide, half
nun נ, ן = the seed, thus continue, heir, son
nun נ, ן = the seed, thus continue, heir, son
The story: The wall (chet) which continues (nun) to the benefit of the children (nun). In ancient days the family tents of the clan were arranged in a large circle, forming a wall. This circular wall, a wall which continues, enclosed the area of safety for the children of the clan within. This was their home: a place of safety, beauty, favor, and lovingkindness. According to The Ancient Hebrew Lexicon, the English word “home” is from the ch-n root, transposing the m sound for the n over time. Chen, grace, the abstract concept from this verbal root, is the same grace that Noah found in the eyes of YHVH (Gen 6:8).
