Hebrew root word parables.
YHVH is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? {n} YHVH is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psa 27:1
YHVH. Strong’s H3068 יהוה Yehovah, the proper name of God;
LIGHT. Strong’s H216 אור owr;
SALVATION. Strong’s H3468 ישע yesha; an abstract concept meaning, “salvation, safety;” from Strong’s H3467 ישע yasha, a primitive root meaning, “to save, to be saved.”
yud י = closed hand, thus work, throw, worship
shin ש = two front teeth, thus sharp, press, eat, two, again
ayin ע = eye, thus watch, know, shade
The story: Actively (yud) and sharply, diligently (shin) watching out (ayin) for danger. This same understanding is present in English from the Hebrew mother tongue, when we say, “Look sharp!” to mean, Look carefully without letting anything escape your notice. The concrete object between the verb “to save” and the abstract concept of “salvation,” is “shepherd,” one who rescues his flock.
The shepherd carefully watches over the flock and the surrounding area always on the lookout for danger. When a predator comes to attack, the shepherd destroys the enemy. – Ancient Hebrew Lexicon
TO FEAR, TO BE AFRAID. Strong’s H3372 ירא yare;
STRONGHOLD. Strong’s H4581 מעוז ma’owz;
LIFE. Strong’s H2416 חי chai;
TO BE IN DREAD. Strong’s H6342 פחד pachad;
