I must admit this psalm, the final psalm in the third book of psalms, was difficult to unpack … the chiastic structure that follows is my best sense of it. The psalm is clearly messianic in nature, part of the psalmist’s perplexity comes from the dichotomy that exists between the promises made to Messiah of David’s line, and the reality that happened to the earthly kings of David’s line. There is only one interlinear paragraph division in the entire psalm, midway through vs. 19, which is marked in the structure:

Psa 89:1, I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever; With my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations;

Psa 89:3, “I have made a covenant with My chosen, I have sworn to My servant David:
Psa 89:4, ‘Your seed I will establish forever, And build up your throne to all generations.’” Selah

conclusion / doxology of psalms book three) Psa 89:52, Blessed be the Lord forevermore! Amen and Amen. {p}
Psa 89:14, Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; Mercy and truth go before Your face; was out of place in this structure, but it could be the conclusion of the section extolling the greatness and glory of God, or it could pair with the introduction, making the entire section from Psa 89:1-14 the 1A pair.
I just want to encourage the psalmist that it is very true that God will not break His covenant, nor alter the word that has come out of His lips. If what you see with your eyes does not line up with God’s promise, it is because God is not yet finished bringing His promise about! The end of the story is not yet. If we ascribe unfaithfulness to God, it is because we have established our own timetable and expectations on how and when His promise is to play out. Our judgment of God’s unfaithfulness is never just! ♥

Grateful u took the time to sort this one out! I tried looking at it myself and got lost in the chiasms within the chiasms within the chiasms.
One thing that stood out with the central axis of “I have made a covenant with my chosen” was all the parallel crisscrossings of heaven and earth surrounding that…between the assembly of His saints and hosts of heaven…the psalmist sings and the heavens praise…forever/eternity and generations…who in the heavens and who among the sons of men. Even Tabor/earth and Hermon/heaven follow suit. Hermon (source of the Jordan fed by the rain and snow that come down from heaven – isaiah 55) imaging heaven
It’s like Heaven kisses earth in the covenant with His Chosen.
I think the pillar is resting here…going to set up camp on this one for awhile!
