Layer in a glass casserole dish in this order:
iceberg lettuce, shredded
red onions, thinly sliced
celery, thinly sliced
turkey bacon, fried till crisp and crumbled
peas, thawed and drained
mayonnaise, covering the peas like frosting
grated cheddar cheese
Grandma Kane used to make this for every family gathering and picnic in the spring and summer. Us kids wouldn’t touch salad with a ten foot pole unless it was Grandma’s seven layer salad. 🙂
