“Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man. And let it be, when these signs come to you, that you do as the occasion demands; for God is with you. You shall go down before me to Gilgal; and surely I will come down to you to offer burnt offerings and make sacrifices of peace offerings. Seven days you shall wait, till I come to you and show you what you should do.” So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day. 1 Sam 10:6-9

The new birth by baptism with the Holy Spirit and with fire, is not a New Testament phenomenon only. Here in the history of Saul, it is revealed that when the Spirit of the LORD comes upon a man, he is turned into another man, because he has been given another heart by God.
“Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God.” Eze 11:19-20
“Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways,” says the Lord GOD. “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin. Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!” Eze 18:30-32
“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” Eze 36:25-27
The one who has the Spirit, has another heart. The one who has another heart, has the Spirit. The one who has the Spirit, may also have the gift or fruit of prophecy. But in addition. the telling fruit of the new heart, is careful obedience to the LORD’s statutes and judgments, which are revealed in Torah.
The Word of God is breathed from the LORD’s mouth by the Spirit of God. The Word of God comes from the heart of God, for from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Luk 6:45). The Torah of God is the foundation of the Word of God. So the Torah of God and the Spirit of God are not at enmity, but the Torah of God proceeded from the Spirit of God, and the Spirit of God, when He gives a man another heart, gives him one which is careful to observe all the LORD’s statutes and judgments.
