I was praying last week for a dear friend who lives in Australia, in the midst of their terrible flooding. By the time the rain stopped, 75% of Queensland had been made a disaster area. One woman’s body was found 80 km from where she was washed away. Some bodies may never be found. (Special report on Queensland floods.)
Australia endured torrential rains for 24 to 36 hours.
Now let’s imagine for a moment, that rain lasting, not 24 hours, but 24 x 40 hours, or 960 hours (40 days and 40 nights of rain).
So when the Kentucky papers print things like this (Broken link, active January 20, 2011), I cringe.
Sometimes I wonder if it is even a coincidence that the floodgates of heaven opened for 24 to 36 hours, just as the mocking of the history of Noah’s Ark was taken to new heights with the announcement of the Ark Encounter project.
