Just last weekend we heard from Brigitte Gabriel the truth about radical Islam: they terrorize the West because they hate the West. She is warning America today that the radical Islamists have not gone to sleep since 9/11, but are instead planning new attacks in our cities. Then this weekend, after the London police found car bombs and began diffusing them, and one car bomb crashed into the Glasgow airport (Broken link, active July 2, 2007) in Scotland, a former radical Islamist writes in a UK paper the real reason behind the terror: Islamic theology requires warfare on the Land of Unbelief – that’s you and me, folks. With the 4th of July holiday coming up, it is revealed this morning that the feds fear a summer of terror planned for the US, while the director of Homeland Security tells us on national TV that “we are safe.”
Afraid yet? I am. Fear is the purpose of terror: they cannot beat us militarily, but they can demoralize us and paralyze us through fear, and so gain an advantage over us. Fear turns strong men’s bones into water. There is a reason that the Lord told Joshua before entering the Promised Land, “I will not leave you or forsake you.” “Be strong and courageous.” “Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
You know, I could put my trust in Homeland Security and the director telling us that we are safe, but I think instead I will put my trust in the Lord my God. He is with me always, even unto the end of the age. If it is appointed to me to die in a terrorist attack, blessed be the name of the Lord, and I will soon be with Jesus in that case. If it is not, then no plan of Al Qaeda can thwart the will of the Creator of heaven and earth, who is far greater than Allah. With Al Qaeda is only an arm of flesh, but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.
Be courageous, Church, and fear not: and do not be afraid to speak the truth concerning Islam, which proceeded from the bottomless pit, and to whence it shall return. Pray for our persecutors, that God would grant them an opening of their blind eyes, that they may repent, and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Let the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony overcome the devil, and let us praise the name of the Lord our God!

Update: continued in Overcoming fear

I've been to Brigitte's training seminar in south Florida. I have also read Wafa Sultan's, "A God Who Hates" and both of Brigitte's books and Nonie Darwish's books among very many others. I have been studying radical Islam for years since 1996. In my area, we have an Arabic protestant church and an Egypian Coptic church. I'm trying to find out how I can take lessons to speak Arabic. While they are still a minority here in the U.S. we need to present the Gospel to them cogently. So glad to have read your homeschooler blog. My sister's family homeschooled their five kids. Blessings, Jim
