Has it been a whole week already? I am so sorry. I could list a whole litany of excuses. They are all good ones I am sure! But I won’t. I have missed you!
To catch up: We had Grandma and Grandpa, and Aunt Anne’s family, over for Thanksgiving. It was a very peaceful and relaxing day. We had to have the air conditioner running, LOL. We missed our children and grandchildren. We loved being together with the ones who came. 🙂
I slept all day Friday. I have been exhausted lately. I just could not get going, so Dad, bless his sweet heart, pulled the covers back up over me, and set my Hidden in My Heart Scripture Lullabies CD to repeat, and took my homemade chocolate pecan pie bars with him (I hear they were very well received, and of course I forgot to take pictures), and went to Grandma and Grandpa’s by himself for turkey soup and games with the family. I wanted to go but as they say, the spirit is willing …
I slept all day Saturday. Church that night was awesome. I thought maybe it would just be sort of like a placeholder service, you know, with the holiday weekend and perhaps a lot of folks out of town visiting family. Oh no, far from it. It seems our new senior pastor has this crazy idea that every single time the believers are gathered together, God will be praised, adored, thanked, and worshiped, with the whole heart holding back nothing, and that is the only agenda and the only purpose and the only goal of the evening, and nothing else will happen until THE agenda is met even if it takes all night, LOL. God responds with like adoration, passion, and fervency, and that is what makes church at Rez unlike any church we have ever been to, and certainly unlike any church we have found down here. They are not content to place hold, LOL. It is such a major blessing, and can I just express again how grateful I am for technology that allows the live streaming to happen.
Sunday we stayed home and got things done around here. More of Sarah’s things put away, cleaning up the house from the holiday, eBay and I can’t even remember what else.
Monday – Dad was back to work. Yay for work! It was very hot for this time of year Monday and Tuesday. I escaped usually by 10 am ish to the book store where there was air conditioning. I have gotten little done around here but laundry, but I have survived and not melted. 🙂
Yesterday I was able to stay home because a Canadian cold front came in and dropped the highs down to 70! I made turkey and wild rice soup out of the leftover turkey carcass and it was yummy. We brought some over to Grandma and Grandpa’s last night on our way out. Yes, Dad took me out! We went to see the new Disney animated movie Tangled. I loved loved loved it, and the animation was breathtaking, Absolutely breathtaking. In fact I had to call Ty to talk about it as soon as we got out of the theater, LOL. If you haven’t seen it I would recommend it – great movie.
Today it is cool! Yay for Canadian cold fronts! We had to turn the heat on this morning for a few hours. I am wearing a sweater, and long sleeves, and enjoying my sun room, sitting in the sun like a cat, soaking up the warm. 🙂 Today I am making homemade yogurt, and southern banana layer cake layers for tomorrow’s dessert. I have bananas that need using.
I have more to post, and pictures also! So keep checking back. I am so excited that Sarah and Mike are coming home on Sunday! I have missed them terribly!
