The first occurrence.
Then said Samuel to the people, “Come, and let us go to Gilgal, and renew the kingdom there.” 1 Sam 11:14
The primitive root.
Strong’s H2318 חדש chadash, a primitive root meaning, “to renew.” The 3-letter root is chet + dalet + shin.
chet ח = the wall, thus outside, divide, half
dalet ד = door, thus enter, move, hang
shin ש = two front teeth, thus sharp, press, eat, two, again
The story: The wall (chet) separates what is within from what is without, but the door (dalet) in the wall unites the separated parties again (shin).
