first layer
4 oz unsweetened chocolate
1 c butter
4 eggs, beaten
2 c sugar
1 c flour
1 c chopped walnuts or pecans
Melt chocolate and butter together, cool. Combine eggs and sugar. Stir in flour, then cooled chocolate mixture and nuts. Bake in a greased 9×13 pan at 350 for 25 minutes. Cool completely.
second layer
3 c powdered sugar
6 T butter, soft
3 T half and half
2 tsp peppermint extract
few drops green food coloring
Combine sugar and butter, blending until smooth. Blend in cream, peppermint, and food coloring. Spread on cooled first layer as evenly as possible. Chill.
third layer
4 oz unsweetened chocolate
4 T butter
Melt chocolate and butter together. Spread as evenly as possible over chilled brownie layers with an icing spatula. Chill and cut into 1 inch bars (8×12). Makes 8 dozen.
