Read Deuteronomy 21:10-25:19 at Bible Gateway.
I have not yet uncovered the single chiastic structure formed by ki tetze … the wisdom is beyond me at this point. But I have made some amazing discoveries in searching for it, so I am going to summarize the extensive studies I have done in this parashah to date.
The paragraph divisions for ki tetze are here.
Now, nearly every parsha in ki tetze is a weak paragraph, except for one strong paragraph at the end, hanging as a loose end. It turns out the run of weak paragraphs began in last week’s parashah, hanging on the end of that parashah as a loose end. I personally don’t like loose ends but Torah is full of them … LOL. God is trying to teach us something. The section from one strong paragraph division to the next is from Deu 21:1-25:16, and here is the study on its very interesting single theme or topic.
The explanation of the 7th commandment, Do not commit adultery, begins in Deu 21:10, and here are my collected notes on this section and its chiastic structure.
The explanation of the 8th commandment, Do not steal, begins in Deu 23:15, and here are my collected notes on this section and its chiastic structure.
The explanation of the 9th commandment, Do not bear false witness, begins in Deu 24:8, and here are my collected notes on this section and its chiastic structure.
The explanation of the 10th commandment, Do not covet, begins in Deu 24:10, and here are my collected notes on this section and its chiastic structure.
(Anyone who is interested in this fascinating study on the Ten Commandments can find all the notes here.)
What is due Amalek is the loose end mentioned above, Deu 25:17-19, and my notes on that parsha are here. ♥
