Hebrew paragraph divisions
Exo 15:22-26 {s} Israel complained of no water + bitter water made sweet
Exo 15:27-16:3 {s} Israel complained of no bread
Exo 16:4-10 {p} YHVH answered that He will provide bread from heaven
Exo 16:11-27 {s} YHVH provides manna + Sabbath rest commandment
Parashah yasa moshe ends at 16:24 while its final paragraph ends at 16:27. I have investigated this in all my books and the Hebrew Bible, and the paragraph does indeed end at 16:27. It is not usual for a parashah division to fall out where there is no paragraph division; there are a few instances where it does, but it is not usual. One of the tells is that the parashah divisions, whether annual or triennial, make their own structures. I could not find the structure from 15:22-16:24; below is the structure from 15:22-16:27, to the next paragraph division. Is it possible there is a copy error for the triennial division? There is precedent for it … but we will wait to see until Exodus is completely mapped.
Exo 15:22-16:27 chiastic structure
The beautiful message of the A pair floored me! The rest of the structure forces the A pair to fall out with the boundaries shown, from which emerged the message, that just as YHVH made the bitter water sweet, He also makes our bitter labor sweet with Sabbath rest! Both bookends are prophesying of Messiah Yeshua! ♥
