Read Exodus 24 at Bible Gateway.
Chapter 24 completes the next Strong Theme …
24:1-18 {s+p} Israel made a covenant with YHVH to walk in His ways, codified in God’s Law
… making this Chiastic Structure:
The structure funnels us right to the breathtaking vision of God on His throne.
Why This Matters: We’re not just reading history; we’re seeing the source of God’s covenant and Law. It all flows straight from His heart and His throne. That sapphire pavement is no ordinary floor; it’s a crystal-clear symbol of heaven’s purity, testifying that the covenant and its terms—the Law—are rooted in God’s unchanging authority.
This vision explodes any doubt: “Moses is not in charge—I AM!” And that the elders and priests saw it too? It empowers them to lead with confidence that our faith stands on the solid ground of God’s throne, and not fallible human ideas.
The Hebrew paragraphs for this chapter:
24:1-11 {s} Moses ratified the covenant between God and His people
