Hebrew root words
And the appearance of the glory of YHVH was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel. Exo 24:17
Glory is Strong’s H3519, kabowd, a concrete noun meaning, “glory;” from Strong’s H3513 כבד kabad, a primitive root meaning, “to glorify.” We have seen this root before.
Exo 24:1-18 {s+p} chiastic structure
Why would the central axis of the structure be the vision of God on His throne? Because the throne of God is the source of the covenant, and the Torah, which is the terms of the covenant. It is enacted on YHVH’s authority, not on Moses’ authority. It is so the elders of the people, who are Israel’s natural rulers, and the priesthood of the people – as yet uncommissioned, who would be their spiritual rulers – would know with certainty that the source of the covenant and the Torah is not Moses’ imagination, but the very throne of God.
Exo 24:1-18 {s+p} strong theme
Israel made a covenant with YHVH to walk in His ways.
