Read Exodus 35 here or at Bible Gateway.
The Hebrew paragraphs:
35:1-3 {p} Work shall be done on six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest
35:4-29 {p} Freewill offering for the work of the tabernacle commanded + children of Israel brought
35:30-36:7 {s} …
God has commissioned a work: build the tabernacle. Then He provided the materials needed to do the work, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. He provided leaders, and assistants, filled with the Spirit of God, to complete the work. We might even go so far as to say, that a work for which He has not provided either materials or people, is not a God-commissioned work.
We are being taught by prophetic type and example how to accomplish a God-commissioned work. Notice that the work opens with a repeat of the Sabbath commandment. Out of all the Ten Commandments, this commandment, the Sabbath commandment, has been repeated more than any of the other commandments. He repeats it again here, because His people are about to embark on a great work – something He commanded them to do. Even when our work is a God-commissioned work of the ministry to advance the kingdom, that “work shall be done for six days, but the seventh day is a holy day (holiday) for you, a Sabbath of rest to YHVH,” (Exo 35:2).
