The Genesis 23:1-24:67 {s+p} Strong Theme, as brought out by the Chiastic structure, is that YHVH has not forsaken His lovingkindness or truth toward Abraham. This remarkable structure should lay to rest whether every word, every jot and tittle (Mat 5:18) that we have in our Bibles today is in fact the unaltered, complete word of YHVH. No man, no JEDP editors, no human agency can encode everything that is elegantly hidden in plain sight within God’s living and active Word like this.

Scripture is making a Comparison and Contrast between the counsel and plans of the nations which YHVH nullifies, and His own counsel and plans, which stand forever.

We have been told that the burden of the Pharisees, which is heavy and hard to bear, is obedience to Moses, and the burden of Jesus, which is light and easy to bear, is freedom from obedience to Moses. Is that what Jesus is teaching, when He spoke to His disciples, and told them to obey the authority of Moses’ seat? Is that what Jesus is teaching, when He said that whoever breaks one of the least of the commandments of Moses, and teaches men to do so, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven (Mat 5:19)? NO.
