Essential Studies.
Exodus 21:1-22:24, Triennial Mishpatim, “Judgments”

While the majority of the Exo 21:1-27 Strong Theme has to do with what constitutes murder, it opens and closes with conditions in which a slave goes free. But why include something that does not have to do with death, within a strong theme which has to do with death? It is because slavery is a Torah metaphor for death. When Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt, it ended the life he had previously known. He was a Prophetic Type of Messiah going to his death, only to be raised up to life again, providing life for everyone else through it. This Strong Theme which explains murder, and imposes death, is “swallowed up” by its opening and closing paragraphs of slaves going out free. Death swallowed up in life, through the Victor who defeated death, Yeshua. ♥
Psalm 57, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Psalms, Book Two: Psalms 42-72 Index
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; Let Your glory be above all the earth (Psa 57:5,11) is the central axis of the Chiastic Structure, but also the conclusion to the psalm at the end of the psalm. The poetic structure of the psalm magnifies YHVH in its words, and then multiplies that magnification by Repetition. The beauty makes your soul want to weep before the throne. ♥
Romans 12, Our reasonable service of worship
Additional studies: Romans Index
BECAUSE God is exceedingly great, THEN let us present ourselves a living sacrifice of service, which is holy and acceptable to God. Why is our service “reasonable?” This Greek word (Strong’s G3050) means, “rational,” “logical.” In other words, it is only rational and logical that we give our lives in service to such an awesome God. NOT becoming a living sacrifice to so mighty and merciful a God as YHVH, is illogical. Let that sink in!
