Deu 33:1-6 {s} makes a chiastic structure:
and has this Messianic prophecy for its central axis.
Yes, He loved the people; all His saints are in Your hand; and they sat down at Your feet; every one shall receive of Your words. Deu 33:3
When did His people Israel sit at His feet to receive His words?
And seeing the multitudes, He went up onto a mountain; and when He had sat down, His disciples came unto Him, and He opened His mouth, and taught them, saying … Mat 5:1-2
Now it came to pass, as they went, that He entered into a certain village, and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Yeshua’s feet, and heard His word. Luk 10:38-39
And all bore Him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. And they said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” Luk 4:22
That His people would receive His words, is surrounded by the C pair, the giving of the Torah from Mt. Sinai. That is enclosed by the B pair, the declaration of the majesty of God as King.
Because He is King, He has the responsibility to command His Torah. And because He is Abba Father who loves His people, His Torah, given with fire, put on flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth. His Law is the Law of Love. And that Love hung on the cross for us, in our place.
Deu 34:1-12
34:1-12 {p} The death of Moses the servant of YHVH/ Joshua/ a prophet like Moses
Yeshua (Joshua by type) is the Prophet like Moses. Now Moses’ burial place is hidden; no one can go to his tomb and look at his bones. Yeshua’s tomb is also empty, and His bones are also not to be found, because He has risen from the dead. The prophecy is so plain it is nearly shouting from the page.
Deuteronomy and thus the entire Torah concludes:
And there arose not since in Israel, a prophet like Moses, whom YHVH knew face to face, in all the signs and the wonders which YHVH sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, and in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses showed in the sight of all Israel. Deu 34:10-12
We have the testimony of Scripture that from Genesis to Malachi, none of the prophets who arose were the prophet like Moses. Yet YHVH said He will raise up a Prophet like Moses.
“YHVH your God will raise up unto you a Prophet from the midst of you, of your brethren, like me. You shall listen unto Him, according to all that you desired of YHVH your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of YHVH my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.’ And YHVH said unto me, ‘They have well said that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like you. I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak unto them all that I shall command Him.’” Deu 18:15-18
This Prophet would hear the Word of God from the mouth of God and teach it, whom YHVH would know face to face, who would walk in all the signs and wonders and mighty power as Moses, and greater than Moses; and that Prophet is Messiah Yeshua, the Son of the Living God.
It is fitting that Torah concludes with a reminder that we are looking for Him who is to come, for His revelation has been the focus of all Torah.
