The seventy descendants of Noah who became the fathers of the nations
If someone were to count the names of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren listed in this chapter, who are said to be the families of the sons of Noah, from whom the nations were divided on the earth after the Flood, you would find there are seventy. This number is biblically significant and occurs over and over again in Scripture in the context of the salvation of the nations.
