Read Genesis 8 at Bible Gateway.
The next Hebrew paragraph is from Genesis 6:13-8:14, bounded by a weak {s} marker. Why does God consider all this text a single paragraph with a single topic? Mapping its Chiastic Structure will help us see the big picture and find our topic.
God destroyed all living things from the earth, but He remembered Noah and all with him in the ark. Therefore:
6:13-8:14 {s} The righteous are preserved through the judgment of the wicked
Note that God gave Noah commands to follow so that he might be preserved, and Noah did all that God commanded him to do, and was preserved. God established His covenant with Noah (A1.2), and in the execution of that covenant, He remembered Noah and did not forget him (2A.2). He not only preserved him through the judgment, but cared for him afterward as well.
Why This Matters: If you are walking in covenant with God today, He will not forget you but remember you. ♥
