On Monday, Dave reinforced our roof, while I put my most valuable books in sealed totes and emptied the bottom shelves and drawers, and packed. We evaced on Tuesday Sep 26 to Mike and Britt’s. The hurricane hit Ft. Myers on Thursday. Sarasota had high winds and massive rain as well, but no storm surge, thank God. Most residents lost power. We learned our home sustained no damage, and we never even lost power. Dave’s post Irma repairs held strong!
We got home late Monday Oct 3rd. We waited a day or two extra because it takes the city and state a few days to clear roads. And we wanted to be sure the gas stations had power and gas.
