Essential Studies.
Job 4 and 5, Eliphaz’s speech
Additional studies: Job Index
What about Eliphaz’s assertion that God wounds, and also heals? (Job 5:18). Yes, that is borne out by additional witnesses (Deu 32:39, 1 Sam 2:6, Isa 30:26, Hos 6:1). God is a Father who loves His children; He wounds for chastisement when His children refuse to be chastised by instruction; yet He does not wound what He cannot bind up.
Psalm 8, Hebrew root word parables

What is man that You think (פקד paqad) of him, God? The various translations translate paqad as “remember,” “visit,” “take care of,” “come help,” “come to your aid,” “attend to.” Quite a variation! One of the derived nouns from this root is a riverbank. A river is edged (pey) by the bank which keeps the river condensed (quph) to its channel instead of flowing out willy-nilly. Just as the river is compassed by the bank to keep it on its path, so Israel is compassed by YHVH God to keep them whither they go to and fro (dalet, as the door swings back and forth). Isn’t that beautiful? ♥
Matthew 6, The Lord’s Prayer
Additional studies: Matthew Index
Yeshua gave us a key to the kingdom with the Lord’s Prayer. This daily appointment with God puts our hearts and minds in the proper position to humble ourselves before God and receive His blessings over our lives and families. Blessings follow obedience, even in a simple thing as praying His prayer after Him.
