Essential Studies.
Job 14 and 15, Job’s prophecy of Messiah
Additional studies: Job Index
Job 13:22–14:17 forms a chiastic structure in Job’s reply to his friends. Unknowingly, he prophesies of Messiah in the central axis: “Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one!” That is, no mere man can do it. Then, he cries out the very essence of Messiah’s ministry: “Oh, that You would hide me in the grave, that You would conceal me until Your wrath is past, that You would appoint me a set time, and remember me!” And that is exactly what the Father did: 1) Messiah was hidden in the grave, 2) having borne the full measure of God’s wrath, 3) appointed for a set time (three days), 4) then remembered and raised to life. Through Him, what was formerly unclean—we, dead in our trespasses and sins—is now made clean. ♥
Psalm 13, When God hides His face (correlated with Job 12:1-14:22)

Job’s complaint is echoed by David in the Psalms:
How long, O YHVH? Will You forget me for ever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart day by day? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? Psa 13:1-2
The answer that is coming: I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
Matthew 9, The Great Physician
Additional studies: Matthew Index
In both cases, the ones receiving the healing of either the soul or of the body, do so by faith. It requires faith to leave our old life behind, and to place our trust in Yeshua for salvation, as Matthew did. It requires faith to leave our old ailments behind, and to place our trust in Yeshua for healing, as the woman, the girl’s father, and the blind men did. Most of us have no trouble believing Yeshua for the healing of the soul, that is, for salvation; but stumble when it comes to believing Yeshua for the healing of the body. But Yeshua is teaching us to have faith in Him for both.
