Essential Studies.
Job 35 and 36, The profit of righteousness
Additional studies: Job Index
God does not suffer nor profit from either wickedness or righteousness. But who does profit from righteousness, and who does suffer from wickedness, is our fellow man. Wickedness is an act of hatred toward others, while righteousness is an act of love toward others. This truth of Elihu’s from the Spirit of God needs to be restored to our culture today, for we have separated wickedness from hate, and righteousness from love. Indeed, you even hear it said that some acts of wickedness are acts of love, while some acts of righteousness are acts of hatred! But this is God’s bottom line, and why He asks righteousness of men–He is seeking love, first and foremost! ♥
Psalm 23, I shall not want
Additional studies: Psalms Book One (1-41) Index
With David, I am learning to say by faith at the beginning of the day, “Since YHVH is my shepherd, I shall not want today, for today, goodness and mercy will surely follow me.” When I am confronted with something today, I can trust that my Shepherd knows about it and has a plan so that I can prevail by the end of the day, if I will look to Him, and then overcome it by His wisdom, strength, and help.
Matthew 17, The Word and the Spirit
Additional studies: Matthew Index
Both Moses and Elijah were with Yeshua when He was revealed in His glory. Moses represents God’s Law, the Torah, and obedience to it. Elijah worked the greatest number of miraculous signs by the power of the Spirit. Elijah represents the Spirit of God, and the gifts of it. The Word, and obedience to it, and the Spirit, and His gifts, will be with Yeshua on His right hand and on His left when He appears in His glory. Thus, the Word and the Spirit are not at odds, rather, The Torah and Spirit are one, for out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Mat 12:34). The Word that God voiced, which Moses wrote down, came from His heart, His Holy Spirit. And, the two, correctly applied, will never contradict each other.
