Who is Elihu? I don’t know if anyone has answered that. He is like Melchizedek in that he appears on the scene on God’s behalf without introduction. His speech has the thumbprint of the Holy Spirit upon it, just as Job’s speeches do, but which is lacking in the friends’ speeches. Moreover, as we get into the Lord’s speech, we see that Elihu mirrored many of the things the Lord says.

Well this is great to see Elihu in this light ….. truly God came in response to Job in angelic messenger .. for what Job had feared had taken all that was his life …..God’s love couldn’t rest until his messanger had spoken life to Job …. appreciate your gifts of loving insight dear heart !

But notice Kathy that he is never mentioned as an angelic messenger, and I don’t think we can assume he was an angel. He was a friend known to the group of men, but who spoke with greater wisdom than Job’s other friends. 🙂
