Joh 11:46-12:50 chiastic structure:
1a) Joh 11:46-12:11, Many believed in Him on account of Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead;
1a) Joh 11:46-54, Chief priests: If we let Him alone, everyone will believe in Him/ they plotted to put Him to death;
1b) Joh 11:55-56, The Passover near/ they came up to Jerusalem + sought Jesus;
1c) Joh 11:57, The chief priests + Pharisees commanded that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it;
1d) Joh12:1-3, Mary anointed Jesus’ feet with costly oil + wiped them with her hair;
central axis) Joh 12:4-6, But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said, “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor?” This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it;

2b) Joh 12:25-26, Jesus: He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life;
2a.1) Joh 12:27, Jesus: Shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour;
2a.2) Joh 12:28-30, Jesus: Father, glorify Your name/ A voice from heaven: I have both glorified it + will glorify it again;
2a) Joh 12:31-50, They did not believe in Him, although He had done so many signs before them;
1a) Joh 12:31-34, Jesus: Now is the judgment of this world/ If I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all to Myself;
1b) Joh 12:35-36, Walk while you have the light/ believe in the light that you may become sons of light;
1c) Joh 12:37, But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him;
1d) Joh 12:38a, That the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke;
1e) Joh 12:38b, “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?”
central axis) Joh 12:39, Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again;
2e) Joh 12:40, “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, Lest they should see with their eyes, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them;”

2c) Joh 12:42-43, Nevertheless many of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him;
2b) Joh 12:44-46, Jesus: He who believes in Me, believes in Him who sent Me/ I have come into the world as a light;
2a) Joh 12:47-50, I came not to judge but to save the world/ The Word judges him who does not believe;
1a) Joh 12:47a, And if anyone hears My words and does not believe;
1b) Joh 12:47b, I do not judge him;
central axis) Joh 12:47c, For I did not come to judge the world but to save the world;
2b) Joh 12:48, He who rejects Me + does not receive My words, has a judge—the word that I have spoken;
