Jude 1:1-25 chiastic structure
1a) Jude 1:1a, Jude … to those who are called, sanctified by God the Father;
1b) Jude 1:1b, And preserved in Jesus Christ;
1c) Jude 1:2-3, Mercy, peace, love: Our common salvation/ contend earnestly for the faith;
1d) Jude 1:4-5, Infiltration of ungodly unbelievers/ I (brother of Jesus + James) remind you;
1a) Jude 1:4a, Ungodly men have crept in unnoticed/ long ago marked for condemnation;
1b) Jude 1:4b, Who turn the grace of our God into lewdness;
1c) Jude 1:4c, And deny the only Lord God + our Lord Jesus Christ;
central axis) Jude 1:5a, But I want to remind you, though you once knew this;
2c) Jude 1:5b, That the Lord;
2b) Jude 1:5c, Having saved the people out of the land of Egypt;
2a) Jude 1:5d, Afterward destroyed those who did not believe;
1e) Jude 1:6-7, Prophecy of Enoch: fallen angels/ Sodom, Gomorrah also teach the judgment to come;

1f) Jude 1:8-10, These are dreamers who defile the flesh, reject authority, speak evil;
1a) Jude 1:8a, Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh;
1b) Jude 1:8b, Reject authority + speak evil of dignitaries;
central axis) Jude 1:9, Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
2b) Jude 1:10a, But these speak evil of whatever they do not know;
2a) Jude 1:10b, Whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, they corrupt themselves;
central axis) Jude 1:11, Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah;
2f) Jude 1:12-13, These are spots in your love feasts, trees without fruit, raging waves;

2d) Jude 1:16-19, Remember: apostles warned about infiltration of ungodly mockers;
1a) Jude 1:16a, These are grumblers, complainers;
1b) Jude 1:16b, Walking according to their own lusts/ mouth great words +flattery;
central axis) Jude 1:17, But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
2b) Jude 1:18, There would be mockers in the last time/ walk according to their own ungodly lusts;
2a) Jude 1:19, These are sensual persons, causing divisions, not having the Spirit;
2c) Jude 1:20-23, Building yourselves up in faith + keep in the love of God + mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ/ save the lost with fear;
2b) Jude 1:24, To Him who is able to keep you from stumbling + present you faultless;
2a) Jude 1:25, To God our Savior, alone wise, be glory, majesty, dominion, power, now + forever. Amen.
