Monday was Kiersten’s last day in Sarasota. We spent it at The Ringling Art Museum (free day!)
- The original Ringling Estate Gatehouse, and the modern Museum complex entrance behind it.
- Selfies!
- The trees on the Ringling grounds were massive.
- At the entrance to Mabel Ringling’s famous rose garden.
- Exploring just one of the banyan forests on the property.
- The Ringling mansion is at the back of the property, right on the Gulf of Mexico.
- The huge marble inlaid terrace behind the mansion.
- The terrace, overlooking the shoreline.
- Mansion stained glass windows in background …
- The mansion terrace overlooking the Gulf in background …
- One mansion wing in background …
- Thank you for taking our picture, Kiersten!
- At the Art Museum courtyard.
- Taking pictures of the paintings.
- The red gallery …
- There is gallery after gallery after gallery …
- They are looking at …
- Esther Before Ahasuerus …
- Yep.
- When looking at these paintings in an art book, you don’t realize how enormous they are until you are dwarfed standing next to them, lol.
- Relaxing halfway through the Art Museum galleries, on the courtyard portico.
- The Art Museum courtyard in the background.
The History of the Ringling Estate and Museums
Dave did take some of Kiersten and I together, but he must have been in a hurry at the time, lol. Every one is in terrible lighting, and my attempts to adjust for it just make the two of us look ill. So enjoy these pictures of Kiersten, and stay tuned for more of our visit to The Ringling: The Gardens, The Mansion, and The Art Museum.
