This process of cleansing and consecration is bringing one who was a walking, breathing dead man, in exile from the Lord and the congregation, back to a state of cleanness and life. As such it is a prophetic picture of the new birth, and a sign of Messiah in Torah, the sign of resurrection and life! Now here is something amazing:
The atonement for cleansing from leprosy ceremony (D pair) is linked by common theme to the consecration ceremony of Aaron and his sons recorded in Lev 8!
As I was puzzling what the connection was, and why they are linked, from God’s perspective, I realized there is one other instance in Scripture where the blood of the sacrifice flowed onto the right ear, right hand, and right foot – Yeshua when He was on the cross. His own blood from the crown of thorns flowed onto His right ear, and His own blood from the nails in His hands and feet flowed onto His right thumb and right big toe. These three consecrations are linked by the teaching tool of common theme. I can see that they are linked, but I am not yet wise enough to understand what it means.
