Luke 21 outline:

Luk 21:1-4, The widow’s two mites into the treasury
Luk 21:5-6, Jesus foretells the destruction of the Temple
Luk 21:7, They asked Him for the time and the signs, when these things will take place
Luk 21:8-19, Jesus answers what will be the sign of the end of the age
Luk 21:21-24, Jesus answered when will the throwing down of the Temple be
Luk 21:25-36, Jesus answered what will be the sign of His coming
Luk 21:37-38, He was daily teaching in the Temple

Luk 21:25-36 chiastic structure:

1a.1) Luk 21:25-26, The things that will come to pass: signs, distress, fear;

1a) Luk 21:25a, And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars;
1b) Luk 21:25b, And on the earth distress of nations;
1c) Luk 21:25c, With perplexity;
central axis) Luk 21:25d, The sea and the waves roaring;
2c) Luk 21:26a, Men’s hearts failing them from fear;
2b) Luk 21:26b, And the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth;
2a) Luk 21:26c, For the powers of the heavens will be shaken;

1a.2) Luk 21:27, Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power + great glory;

1b) Luk 21:28-31, When you see these things, learn from the fig tree, for the kingdom of God is near;

1a) Luk 21:28, When these things begin to happen, look up because your redemption draws near;

2a) Luk 21:31, So also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near;

1c) Luk 21:32, This generation will by no means pass away till all things take place;

2b) Luk 21:34-36a, Take heed + watch for these things, that the Day not come on you unexpectedly;

1a) Luk 21:34a, But take heed to yourselves;
1b) Luk 21:34b, Lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life;
central axis) Luk 21:34c-35a, And that Day come on you unexpectedly, for it will come as a snare;
2b) Luk 21:35b, On all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth;
2a) Luk 21:36a, Watch therefore;

2a.1) Luk 21:36b, Pray that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass;

2a.2) Luk 21:36c, And to stand before the Son of Man.
