Luk 23:32-47 Chiastic Structure (and the greater structure from Luke 22:1-23:56):
I wonder, whenever I find a Chiastic Structure, why the passage highlighted by the central axis is the key point of the structure. Why does the Spirit of God place neon flashing lights around this passage and not another?
King is in Greek, Strong’s G935 βασιλεύς basileus. The translators of the Hebrew Bible into Greek used basileus to translate the Hebrew word melek, derived from Strong’s H4427 מלך malak, a primitive verb meaning, “to reign.” The ancient pictographs are mem + lamed + kaph.
mem מ ם = water, thus chaos, mighty, blood
lamed ל = shepherd’s staff, thus teach, yoke, to, bind
kaph כ ך = open palm, thus bend, open, allow, tame
The parable being told by the Hebrew Root Word is of the blood (mem) which has the authority (lamed) to bless (kaph). The precious blood of Jesus, shed on the cross, which blesses those who put Him to death. And really, that includes all of us, doesn’t it? For all of us put Him to death, and not only the 1st-century inhabitants of Jerusalem. His blood was shed for the sins of the whole world, including me and you.
To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood… Rev 1:5
