Essential Studies.
Exodus 33 and 34, The bad news and the good news
Additional studies: Exodus Index
It is not an accident that the seemingly out of place detail about Moses pitching the tabernacle of meeting (moed), is sandwiched between the bad news of God’s Presence separated from Israel, and the good news (gospel) of “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest,” (Exo 33:14). The tabernacle of meeting—a Prophetic Type of Messiah and the new birth, of God’s Presence dwelling with the believer through Messiah—brings us to the good news! ♥
Psalm 63, Chiastic structure
Additional studies: Psalms Book Two (42-72) Index
The king lifts up his hands to bless YHVH in worship, and YHVH lifts up His right hand to uphold him (A pair). The soul of the king shall be satisfied in His search for God, as his soul follows close behind Him (B pair). The king praises God with joy, and rejoices in Him under the shadow of His wings (C pair, and see Psa 91:1). He meditates on God during the night, and what he remembers about Him, what he recounts to himself, is all the ways God has been his help in the past, therefore he takes joy and has confidence in God’s help for his present situation also (central axis). ♥
Romans 16, Chiastic Structure
Additional studies: Romans Index
Working on the single Chiastic Structure for the book of Romans (which is amazing; and studying its thematic pairs insightful) helped me finalize and update the outline of the book. And the point the Spirit is making by this book, zeroing in on it like an arrow: God accomplishes the salvation of the world!
