And that you may distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean … Lev 10:10
Distinguish. Strong’s H914 בדל badal, a primitive root meaning, “to separate,” as the patriarch sitting at his tent door separates truth from lies, and good from evil, when he renders judgment.
Holy. Strong’s H6944 קדש qodesh, an abstract concept meaning, “holiness,” from Strong’s H6942 קדש qadash, a primitive root meaning, “to be holy.”

Common. Strong’s H2455 חל chol, an abstract concept meaning, “that which is profane;” from Strong’s H2490 חלל chalal, a primitive root meaning, “to profane, defile, pollute, desecrate.”
Unclean. Strong’s H2931 טמא tame, an adjective meaning, “defiled, polluted;” from Strong’s H2930 טמא tame, a primitive root meaning, “to be or become unclean.”
tet ט = the basket, thus surround, contain, hold, mud
mem מ = the water, thus chaos, mighty, blood
aleph א = the ox head, thus strength, power, leader
The story: A bowl containing (tet) water (mem) is used to wash food, dishes, clothes, or people when they become powerfully (aleph) contaminated with dirt, as normal contact with dirt was brushed off.
Clean. Strong’s H2889 טהור tahowr, an adjective meaning, “clean, pure;” from Strong’s H2891 טהר tahar, a primitive root meaning, “to be clean.”
And these you shall have in abomination among the winged creatures; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination … Lev 11:13
To eat. Strong’s H398 אכל akal, a primitive root meaning, “to eat, to devour.”
aleph א = ox head, thus strength, power, leader
kaph כ ך = open palm, thus bend, open, allow, tame
lamed ל = shepherd’s staff, thus teach, yoke, to, bind
The story: The ox (aleph) tamed (kaph) to the yoke (lamed) is the agency through which man provides for his food, thus his ability to eat.
Abomination. Strong’s H8263 שקץ sheqets, an abstract concept meaning, “a detestable thing, an abomination;” from Strong’s H8262 שקץ shaqats, a primitive root meaning, “to be base, abominable;” “to pollute;” “to detest, abhor.”
shin ש = two front teeth, thus sharp, press, eat, two, again
quph ק = on the horizon, thus condense, circle, time
tsadey צ ץ = trail, thus a man concealed, journey, chase, hunt
The story: To take in (shin, as the teeth are used to take in food) that which is an eternal (quph) snare (tsadey, as snares or traps are a common tool used by hunters). The sense I am seeing more accurately of tsadey, is of arrows being shot. Those arrows, meant to harm, are willfully taken in rather than deflected.
