Numbers 13 and 14, An evil report

The report of the ten spies did not become an evil report until they flatly contradicted Caleb and Joshua’s encouragement that Israel was well able to possess the land (Num 13:30-33). It was an evil report, because while it might have been true that Israel was not able to enter the land and possess it on their own, they were not on their own. YHVH was with them, and they were going in at His command and direction. Therefore it was evil and false.

You might say that because YHVH is good, and full of compassion, ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy and truth, all nations whom YHVH has made will come and worship before Him. YHVH’s goodness is the first cause, and worship is the result. ♥
