Essential Studies.
Leviticus 7 and 8, The law of the offerings
Additional studies: Leviticus Index
“YHVH spoke to Moses” is an unusual central axis. Wrapping the central axis is the law of the offerings. In other words, all of the law of the offerings, or sacrifices, has at its heart, “YHVH spoke to Moses.” What YHVH spoke is His word which proceeded from His heart (Mat 12:34). His Word is what became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth (Joh 1:14). The heart of the law of the offerings is Messiah. What YHVH spoke to Moses, became flesh in order to be offered up as a sacrifice, according to the law of the offerings. ♥
Numbers 15, The death penalty for gathering sticks
Additional studies: Numbers Index
Scripture is showing us that the man did not go out and break the Sabbath as a mistake; but he set his heart intentionally and deliberately to break the Sabbath by gathering sticks on it. He might have decided that since he wasn’t going to enter the Promised Land, but die in the wilderness, then what good was serving God?
Psalm 87, Chiastic structure

That which your eye beholds becomes a source of good and light, or evil and darkness to your person. Therefore Scripture contains the admonition to guard your eyes from worthless things (Psa 119:37). That is the natural application. The spiritual application is in what your eye perceives. If your eye perceives good, and the hand of God, even in a bad circumstance, that which is bad cannot pollute you with darkness. If your eye perceives evil even in a good circumstance, that evil pollutes you with darkness, even if it is a lie and in reality the evil does not exist. It all comes down to a little perspective. ♥
