Read Micah 3 through 5 at Bible Gateway.
The Hebrew paragraph divisions:
Mic 3:1-4 {p} YHVH will hide his face from the rulers of His people who have hated good and loved evil
Mic 3:5-8 {s} False prophets who prophesy for hire: God will not answer you, but Micah full of the Spirit
Mic 3:9-12 {p} Because of rulers, priests, prophets who hire out: Jerusalem shall became a heap of ruins
Mic 4:1-5 {p} The rule of Messiah over the nations: the Torah will proceed from Jerusalem/ peace will prevail
Mic 4:6-7 {p} The LORD will make the lame + outcast a strong nation/ reign over them in Mt Zion
Mic 4:8-5:1 {s} Zion shall go to Babylon, but the LORD will redeem her from her enemies by the judge of Israel
Mic 5:2-6 {p} From Bethlehem shall come the Ruler of Israel who feeds His flock in peace/Israel’s defense against the Assyrian
Mic 5:7 {p} The remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the LORD
Mic 5:8-15 {p} The remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles like a young lion among the sheep/ YHVH will cut off His adversaries
The chiastic structure:
1a) Mic 4:1-5 {p} In the latter days Torah shall go forth from Zion/ Messiah’s reign + end of warfare;
1b) Mic 4:6-7 {p} The lame + outcasts gathered into a remnant + strong nation with YHVH their king;
1c) Mic 4:8-10, Migdal Eder, to you the kingdom shall come/ pangs like a woman in labor/ deliverance from Babylon;
1d) Mic 4:11-12, Many nations have gathered against you/ He will gather them like sheaves to the threshing floor;
central axis) Mic 4:13, “Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion; for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hooves bronze; you shall beat in pieces many peoples; I will consecrate their gain to YHVH, and their substance to YHVH of the whole earth;”
2d) Mic 5:1 {s} Gather yourself in troops/ They will strike the judge of Israel with a rod on the cheek;
2c) Mic 5:2-6 {p} Bethlehem Ephrathah, out of you shall come the Ruler/she who is in labor has given birth/ deliverance from the Assyrian;
2b) Mic 5:7-9, The remnant of Jacob in the midst of the Gentles/ YHVH’s hand lifted up above His adversaries;
1a) Mic 5:7a, The remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, like dew + showers from YHVH;
central axis) Mic 5:7b {p} That tarry for no man nor wait for the sons of men;
2a) Mic 5:8-9, The remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the flocks of sheep;
2a) Mic 5:10-15 {p} In the latter days military + idolatry ended/ I will destroy your enemies + execute vengeance on the nations.
