My heart is so heavy for Charlie and his family, and our country. We’ve lost a treasure. I can’t seem to stop crying. But the Spirit reminded me of a few truths:
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Rom 8:28
But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Gen 50:20
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains a single kernel, but if it dies, it produces abundant fruit.” Joh 12:24
The single unique Charlie fell and died, but God will raise up an abundance of Charlies to carry on his courageous civil discourse in the face of opposition.

(Update: I learned from Charlie’s Memorial service that he was shot and killed at 12:24 pm. Oh my goodness …)
