On Sunday we went to Ellenton to the Outlet Mall! I go there about once every six months, and always to the same store: Carter’s! I love Carter’s. Makes me want more grandbabies, LOL. Anyway, we picked up a little something for Isaac and Jacob and I cannot wait to see them in it!
Then on the way home, we stopped at Poblano’s, (sadly gone now) this mexican restaurant we had heard about. It is on State Route 70 (so Bradenton, essentially). All the mexican places we have tried here have been true mexican, like Pobre Pancho’s in Fort Collins. Some people like that, but we have been looking for Tex Mex, more like Tortilla Marissa’s. Well, we had heard this place was Tex Mex, and it was! We loved the food there. Still not quite Tortilla Marissa’s, but sooooooo much closer that we are happy campers! When you come to visit us, we will take you there. Now we have found a great italian place that we like, AND a mexican place! We still have to look for chinese that is not #1 Super Buffet – we have a lot of those around here, LOL.
So we were already in Bradenton, Aunt Anne and Uncle Bill were going to spend the afternoon at the beach (Lido, because Siesta Key is PACKED right now), and so we thought – Hey, we’ll just drive to Anna Maria Island, take the scenic route to Lido Key, and join them there! We are talking a drive of 12, perhaps 15 miles, tops. So it took us an hour and 10 minutes to get to Lido Key from the restaurant. It was a weekend. But more importantly, it is Spring Break season around here, from the 1st of March, till Easter. Then the locals can have their beaches back. The beach was PACKED, btw.
Dave is only working a half day today, so I think we will get to go do something when he is done! Woot woot! We have not gone on any adventures this year and I am ready for one!
