Since we were in Orlando, we hopped over to the Disney Grand Floridian Resort. It sits directly across the lake from the Magic Kingdom, and you can watch the fireworks at Cinderella’s Castle from a comfy spot on their outdoor patio. We took the Monorail from Disney Springs to the resort, and this was the first time Dave and I had been inside. The Monorail goes right inside the resort, just like it does at The Contemporary. I was awed by the opulence. I didn’t have time to take many pictures, though, as we were trying to make it to the patio before the fireworks started. Dave and I will go back just for a day of wandering around and exploring all the nooks and crannies.
- That’s inlaid marble floor. And Dave and Anne’s feet, lol.
- Even the shops, of which there were a few, were all in the old Floridian style of Victorian granduer.
- The photo does not do the lobby justice.
- There really was a guy in a tux playing beautiful music on the grand piano.
- Richard and Kyle on the patio. I forgot that I had a night setting on my camera.
- The Grand Floridian wraps around the Magic Kingdom lake. Cinderella’s Castle is just out of the frame on the left. I took pics of it, too, but this one was the only one that turned out.
