My daughter, my sister, and I were discussing praying for our children, as mothers. It was so bittersweet when my children started moving away from home, but being a grandma and talking to my daughter mother-to-mother is wonderful. I am looking forward more and more to my relationships with my adult children.
Back to praying for our children. I like praying the words of Scripture out loud when I pray:
1) Angels, who render service for those who will inherit salvation, obey the voice of God’s word.
2) God’s word is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword …
3) The word of God is the sword of the Spirit, our offensive weapon in our battle against principalities and powers.
4) Faith — our shield, which extinguishes all the fiery darts of the enemy against us — comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
I posted my favorite prayer for my children, from Psalm 23. Another of my favorite prayers for my children, and now Zane, is:
“He will tend His flock like a shepherd;
He will gather the lambs in His arms;
He will carry them in His bosom,
And gently lead those that are with young.”
Isaiah 40:11

Joanna says
"I want you to be wise in what is good and simple concerning evil."
There are many other good ones from Romans 15, including this one-
"Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (verses 5 and 6)
christinemiller says
of his favorite prayer for our children:
“I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which He has called you, what are the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His great might that He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” Ephesians 1:16-21
