The Hebrew paragraphs:
1:1-6 {p} YHVH regards the way of the man who regards the Law of YHVH
Psalm 1:1-6 forms a Chiastic Structure:
Psalm 1 is Repeating what we have already seen in the Law, that obedience to the Law brings about blessing in this life for the natural man. The central axis and its surrounding elements describe the prosperity of the righteous.
But notice something amazing upon which the Chiastic Structure shines a spotlight. The righteous man has regard for—nay, delights in—the Torah (Hebrew of “Law”) of YHVH, and meditates in it day and night. YHVH then has regard for the way of the righteous man. “To regard,” is to maintain a protective interest in, to care for, to attend to, to have consideration of, according to Webster’s. We will see this reciprocal relationship between YHVH and the righteous man, who delights in YHVH, expressed throughout the Psalms.
