Today we see that one of the afflictions the psalmist endured was that the proud treated him wrongfully and bore false witness about him. But the heart of the parallelism is the tender mercy and kindness of the Lord which comforts him! We will always have afflictions of one kind or another without, but within is the tender mercy of the Lord! ♥
