The Hebrew paragraph:
27:1-14 {p} When YHVH is our stronghold and hiding place, we need not fear the plans of the wicked
Psalm 27:1-14 Chiastic Structure:
When evil comes seeking after me, then I go seeking after YHVH.
To seek is in Hebrew, Strong’s H1245 בקש baqash, a primitive verb meaning, “to search out, to strive after.” The ancient pictographs are pey + quph + shin, as per the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon, the modern bet was transposed from an original pey, due to their similar sounds
pey פ ף = mouth, thus open, blow, scatter, edge
quph ק = on the horizon, thus condense, circle, time
shin ש = two front teeth, thus sharp, press, eat, two, again
The parable being told by the Hebrew Root Word is of turning (pey, as the lip of a bowl is a turned edge) and concentrating (quph, as light leaves the earth and sky and is concentrated to the sun when it is on the horizon), pressing in (shin) to a goal. When we seek earnestly after something, we turn our faces away from whatever is a distraction in life, and turn our faces toward that which is our goal. Then, we press in.
I may not be strong enough in this life, in my own ability, to escape their evil plans, but YHVH is. He hides me in His pavilion in the time of trouble.
To hide is in Hebrew, Strong’s H6845 צפן tsaphan, a primitive verb meaning, “to conceal;” also “to lay up, to store up.” The ancient pictographs are tsadey + pey + nun.
tsadey צ, ץ = the trail, thus a man concealed, journey, chase, hunt
pey פ, ף = the mouth, thus open, blow, scatter, edge
nun נ, ן = the seed, thus continue, heir, son
The parable is of a concealed (tsadey) mouth (pey) which causes to continue (nun), that is, a treasure which is hidden remains so when the mouth never speaks of it. Do not miss that we are His treasure, which He hides from evildoers when we seek Him with all our hearts!
