I realized, when I am tired and worn out in heart, and I really need the Lord to give me strength, I really need to find a way to grab ahold of that promise of strength from the Lord and tangibly bring it into my life and circumstances today, that this psalm is giving me a key to accomplish that. Give the Lord glory and strength!
In other words, open my mouth, and praise Him. Tell Him all the wonderful things that are right about Him! Turn my focus and adjust my perspective, from looking at my life and situations, and look at Him. Give Yehovah the glory due to His name! Worship Him in the beauty of holiness!
What is the beauty of holiness, and how do we worship Him in it? I think it means, holiness is beautiful. His holiness is beautiful. We tend to praise the love and mercy of the Lord (which is good); but His mercy is not divorced from His holiness. Mercy is an attribute of holiness, just as righteousness is. We worship Him for the beauty of His holiness, and when we emulate Him, and walk in righteousness and mercy in our day to day lives, that walk becomes an offering of worship, an offering of the beauty of holiness. ♥
