Yesterday I posted the paired elements for Psa 95. After examining it more in preparation for today’s study, I found the following:
1a) Psa 95:1-7a, Shout joyfully before His presence + our God, Maker + we are His people;
1) Psa 95:1, Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation;
2) Psa 95:2, Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms;
3) Psa 95:3-7a, The LORD is our Maker + we the people of His pasture, sheep of His hand;
3 For the Lord is the great God, And the great King above all gods;
4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; The heights of the hills are His also;
5 The sea is His, for He made it; And His hands formed the dry land;
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7a For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand. {n}
1b) Psa 95:6-11, Worship God + let us hear lest we be like those who harden their hearts to rebel;
1) Psa 95:6-7a, Let us worship Him who is our Maker and God;
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7a For He is our God, And we are the people of His pasture, And the sheep of His hand; {n}
2) Psa 95:7b, Today if you will hear His voice;
3) Psa 95:8a, “Do not harden your hearts;”
4) Psa 95:8b-9, They rebelled in the wilderness;
8b “As in the rebellion, As in the day of trial in the wilderness;
9 When your fathers tested Me; They tried Me, though they saw My work;”
5) Psa 95:10-11, Their hearts went astray + wrath + they did not enter His rest;
10a “For forty years I was grieved with that generation, And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts; {n}
10b And they do not know My ways;’
11 So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’” {p}

Yesterday’s arrangement does make use of every verse, which this arrangement does not. But this arrangement also explains why some elements form chiastic structures and some don’t. There is a linear progression imposed or alongside or embedded within the chiastic structures (or vice versa). I am mystified that people can believe these words are the words of men!
This puts Psa 97 in the center of this multi- chapter chiastic structure, which we will look at tomorrow.
