And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Gen 1:2
The primitive root.
Strong’s H7363 רחף rachaph, a primitive root meaning, “to cover, to flutter.” The 3-letter root is resh + chet + pey.
resh ר = the head of man, thus head, first, top, beginning, man
chet ח = the wall, thus outside, divide, half
pey פ, ף = the mouth, thus open, blow, scatter, edge
The story: To be above (resh) as a cover (chet, i.e., as a wall is a surface), blowing (pey, as the Spirit blows where He will, doing His work).
And the Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters. Gen 1:2
The wind blows where it will, and you hear its sound, but cannot tell from where it comes, and to where it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Joh 3:8
