Read Revelation 19 at Bible Gateway.
We have been reading about the fall of Mystery Babylon the Great, the city whom the citizens of the kingdoms of this world have their citizenship, instead of the kingdom of heaven. The seven final plagues bring about her fall.
We saw in Rev 16:13-14, that in the third interval period between the sixth and seventh bowls of wrath, three demonic spirits are released, whose purpose is to bring all the kings of the earth to battle against the LORD God Almighty. This is the period we are living in right now.
We assume, that when they are all gathered together, that is when the seventh angel pours out the seventh bowl of wrath in the air, saying, “It is done!” What is done? The fall of Mystery Babylon the Great, and the triumph of the LORD our God.
Rev 17 explains who Mystery Babylon is, who is fallen, what the beast is, that she rides, what its seven heads and ten horns are. Rev 18 recounts the mourning of the kings and merchants of the world over her fall, and the warning to God’s own people, to depart from her, so that they do not partake of the plagues which are bringing about her fall. Rev 19, then, begins with the rejoicing in heaven over her fall.
Then the vision backtracks a little bit, and we pick up the history that was left off at Rev 16:14: the great battle in which all the kings of the earth take part. It is through their defeat in this battle that Babylon falls. The seventh bowl of wrath is poured out on them in this battle. This is the wrath, I believe, that was tread out in the winepress of the wrath of God, in Rev 14:17-20. When this wrath, which is contained in the seventh bowl, is poured out upon the nations who have gathered together against the LORD God, they are defeated in battle with a great slaughter.
How the defeat happens, is told in Rev 19:11-16. The Faithful and True Word of God, Messiah Yeshua, returns on a white horse, with His armies behind Him. Out of His mouth proceeds a sharp sword, which I believe is the Word of God, and with this sword He strikes the nations, so that Babylon falls, and instead of Babylon ruling the nations, He will henceforth rule the nations. He Himself treads out the winepress of God’s wrath that we first read about in Rev 14.
Then the birds of the air are called to a great feast which has been prepared for them by God: the slain on the battlefield, all those who resisted the reign of the incarnate Word of God. The beast is captured, and the false prophet, who are thrown alive into the lake of fire. This is probably the Roman beast, not only in its incarnation of the tenth horn (it may be the tenth horn who leads the nations in this battle), but the Roman beast who looks like a lamb but who speaks the words of the Devil, the papacy; and the false prophet, whom the Mohammedans revere. So ungodly civil authority as well as false religion disguising itself as truth — Mystery Babylon — will no longer plague mankind. The image of the beast already is no more, as it was slain by the first four bowl of wrath judgments.
